Preston High School Registration Information Night

This meeting is intended for students who will be sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the 2016-2017 school year and their parents. Please plan on attending to learn essential information regarding graduation requirements, new class offerings, and how to pay for dual credit courses as well as college and career opportunities. A meeting for incoming freshman will be held on March 16th.
Tomorrow during 1st and 2nd hour Preston High will be hosting the Idaho College Tour Day. You will have the opportunity to visit with representatives from 3 colleges to help you plan and get ready to do applications next fall. Please meet in the auditorium at 8:15.
For all students who are going on the LADY LIBERTY TRIP, there will be an information meeting on Wednesday, March 9th @ 7:00 PM in the new gym.
There will be a Sci-Fi club meeting today at 12:30 in Mr. Ormond's room. We will finalize assignments for the Spring Fling and update you on our upcoming movie parties. Be on time and bring a friend.
Sign-up sheets for those who want to donate at the Blood Drive on Wednesday, March 9th, are on the trophy case. You must be at least 16 to donate with parent permission; you may donate without parent permission if you are at least 17. Any questions, speak with Josie Haslam.
Job openings for anyone 16 and over, $7.25 per hour, 40 hours per week. The job is to help clean the high school over the summer and during spring break. Applications can be picked up at the office and need to be turned in by March 10th.
The Preston High School chapter of SkillsUSA, that includes automotive tech, electronics, and cabinetry, combined with the Sci Fi club, are hosting a "Spring Fling" student activity that is open to all PHS student body. This is not a dance. The activities will include Quad copter (drone) flying, Movie on the big screen, X-box championship, Bounce-House Jousting, paper air rockets, Wii dancing, and lots of food! Come to the Spring Fling on Friday, March 11, from 8:00 to 11:00 PM in the old gym. Admission is only $3.00 each or $2.50 each with a date. Dress is fun-time casual.
PHS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE. PICK ONE UP AT THE OFFICE or YOU CAN FIND IT ONLINE AT PRESTONIDAHOSCHOOLS.ORG ON THE HIGH SCHOOL’S HOME PAGE UNDER SCHOLARSHIP DRIVE. THEY ARE DUE MARCH 24TH, THE THURSDAY BEFORE SPRING BREAK.
Exec will be selling donuts and hot chocolate this week. Pay $1 for a donut or hot chocolate or $1.50 for both. Help support the Ethiopia project.
Unity Ball will be April 9th. Guys, it’s time to start thinking about getting that date. Prom Song tryouts will be March 16th. Sign up at the office. The song is “I Was Made for Loving You” by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran. You can try out for piano, guitar or singing.
ELECTRONICS/ROBOTICS CLUB meeting THURSDAY in Mr. Allred's room at lunch time.
Mr PHS will be held on Tuesday, March 8th @ 7:00 PM in the high school auditorium.
The Bennett Cup will be held April 13th and 14th. Bennett Cup applications are available at the office. It is open to all grades and the categories are piano, instrumental, strings and vocal. All musical students are urged to enter!
PRESTON’S STAR TALENT SHOW

If you are interested in engineering or computer science, you should sign up for Utah State’s Engineering State. It will be held at USU June 6-9. Students must register by March 18. See counselors for more info.
ISU TECH EXPO
Thursday March 17. This event showcases how College of Technology programs connect to job opportunities. If you would like to attend please sign up in the counseling office.
WOMEN AND WORK CONFERENCE
Wednesday March 9 at ISU, learn about occupations in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Students get the chance to do hands on career exploration. Cost is $10 and includes lunch. See a counselor to sign up.
